This week, we continue to press in during WEEK TWENTY-THREE of our 40 Weeks of Prayer and Fasting, to offer prayers of repentance for the sin in the church, the sin in the nation, and the blessing of Israel.

THE FRUIT OF JEZEBEL (Part Two)

Through Jezebel's manipulation, intimidation, and control the church of Jesus Christ has:

D. FAILED TO BE DISCIPLES AND LOVE THE LOST

Luke 9:23 -- failed to take up the Cross daily and follow Christ

Luke 14:33 -- failed to forsake all and become a disciple

1 Peter 2:21 -- failed to imitate and follow Christ's example

Acts 1:8 -- failed to be a witness for Christ ... love life more than a soul

Ezek. 33:11 -- the Lord has no pleasure in the death of the wicked

E. REFUSED CHURCH RESTORATION

1 Tim. 4:1-- embrace man-made doctrines; giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils

1 Tim. 4:1 -- failed to hear the prophets

Eph. 2:20 -- failed to receive the foundation of the apostles and prophets

Rev. 2:9 -- we've created (some) schools that are veritable "synagogues of Satan"

REPENTANCE FOR THE SINS OF THE NATION:

NATIVE AMERICAN ISSUES (VI):
CAPTIVITY THROUGH PREDATORY EDUCATIONAL STRATEGIES

In the 1860's and 1870's, President Ulysses S. Grant involved the churches in the educating of Native people. As part of federal assimilation efforts he gave churches the authority to nominate Indian agents as representatives of the government. They were to direct educational services and activities on reservations. The results of this initiative were stern missionary dictatorships - that forcefully removed Native children from their homes, consequently:

-- Crushing Indian culture and the Indigenous way of life.

-- Suppressed Indigenous religious beliefs and all other tribal/familial related activities.

-- Punished native children for the least show of independence.

Spiritually speaking, the powers of darkness have gained the legal right to take America's youth into captivity because of the legal precedent established by the government's early predatory educational policy toward Native children. And the prayers and the efforts of the church to turn back the liberal progressive agenda from defiling our children with ungodly values and lifestyles are neutralized because of its refusal to publicly repent for its role in contributing to the death, destruction, and disenfranchising of thousands of Native children and their families.

Scriptural Understanding

(Deut. 28:32) -- "Your sons and daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall look and fail with longing for them all day long; and there will be no strength in your hand."

Current consequences

Satanic powers have the legal right to influence the NEA and other liberal progressive educational groups to steal the hearts and minds of America's young people. And just like the parents of the Native children, today's parents stand powerless to intervene or stop their aggressive onslaught.

Please note, in particular, the sad history of the Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, PA -- a school that served as a model for all other Indian schools in our nation at that time.

"Father God, as we read, in detail, the history of the Indian education program in America, our hearts are grieved. Forgive us, Lord, as we beat these children for the "crime" of even speaking their own precious Native languages, in our desperate efforts to "assimilate" these young lives into the white man's culture. Forgive us, too, for the many other ways we abused these little ones, for we knew not what we were doing."

"We thank YOU, Lord, that You created men of all tribes and tongues and cultures. Help us to value each one, as You value them, and as You have even sent Your own Son to die on the Cross to purchase their salvation. Forgive us for the crimes and sins committed in Your Name; and help us to wipe that slate clean now through the work of Your precious Blood Shed at Calvary."

	PRAYERS FOR ISRAEL: TALKS WITH P.A.; SYRIA

PRAYERS FOR ISRAEL:

ISRAEL'S NEGOTIATIONS WITH P.A.; SYRIA

In response to a recent announcement that Israel and the Palestinian Authority officials are drafting a peace agreement, Knesset members from various parties expressed fury at the attempt to create a 'political coup' in the 'dying days' of the corrupt Olmert regime. Opposition leaders maintain they will not recognize any such agreement. The decision coincides with the corruption scandal that will likely cost PM Olmert his job.

The agreement includes parceling parts of Judea and Samaria and possibly half of Jerusalm. Syria and Israel began conducting indirect negotiations via Turkish mediators. After a brief hiatus, the talks will reportedly resume next week. The Syrian foreign minister claims that Israel had committed to withdraw to the 1967 borders, thereby ceding the Golan Heights to Syria. PM Olmert insisted that he agreed to no such thing.

Israel wants to weaken Syria's alliance with Iran, but at the end of last month, Syria and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding regarding defense issues. The agreement included reciprocal visits of military officials, joint training and technological cooperation.

Lord God Almighty:

- We pray that all negotiations involving the land of Israel will come to nothing.
- May the Israeli officials do what is biblically correct for Israel.
- Please keep Israel from agreeing to an unholy alliance with those who seek her destruction.
- You have brought the Jewish people back to inhabit the land. May they have Your vision for the land and not cede any of it away.

Joel 3:1-2, "For behold, in those days and in that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land."

Hoffman wrote these words after reaching home.

Four Safeguards - Protection from Deception

This week: RECEIVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH

Last week, we examined the first safeguard from deception: to humble ourselves before the Lord. The next safeguard is in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12:

The coming of the lawless one [the antichrist] is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders . . .

So bear in mind that Satan is capable of producing power and signs and wonders. I have frequently commented that one obvious place for the antichrist to arise would be in the Charismatic movement, because most Charismatics seem to think that anything supernatural must be from God. That is not so. Satan is capable of great supernatural signs and wonders. So how do we protect ourselves? It goes on:

. . . and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish. because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

So, what is our protection against deception? Receiving the love of the truth. And again, it is something we must do for ourselves. God will offer it to us; we have to receive it.

Now, of those who do not receive the love of the truth, God says this:

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

That is a frightening verse. God will send them strong delusion. If God sends you strong delusion, you will be deluded!

What about the love of the truth? The Greek word for love there is the one we're all familiar with: agape. It is a very strong word. It is the strongest word for love in the Greek language. It does not mean just reading your Bible every morning, or going to church and listening to sermons. It is a passionate commitment to the truth of God. That is what we must cultivate if we are to escape delusion. God will send strong delusion to those who have not received the [agape] love of the truth. That means more than just having a "quiet time" or reading your Bible at weekends. It is a passionate commitment to the truth of God.

I think I can say, without being boastful, God has given me that. I think God has given me a passionate commitment to the truth. Every time I hear anything that I do not feel is truth, there is something in me that rises up. God can do that for you, too, but you have to let Him do it. That is the second safeguard: receive the love of the truth.
